It’s so hard to go from work to the gym. After work, your tired and the last thing you want to do is go work up a sweat. Also, things get in the way or responsibilities come up that take you away from your goal to hit the gym. Here are three ways to avoid skipping gym day after work and to motivate yourself to actually get up, get in your car and head to the gym.
Reward Yourself
Every time you reach a fitness goal reward yourself! If you want a more immediate incentive, try putting a dollar in a jar every time you go to the gym. If you choose food rewards, don’t do it too often. When you do, make sure you aren’t selecting foods that will undo all that hard work you just did at the gym. However, keep the rewards good enough to where having rewards will be worth it. The point is to motivate you after all.

You can even get a little competition going on to see who does the most reps or the highest weight. Having friendly motivation and competition can go a long way to set good habits. Eat Right
Having a sluggish day won’t make it any easier to make it to the gym. Make sure to eat breakfast every morning. A good breakfast will help energize you all day long and you’ll be up for working out after work. It is imperative to keep your blood glucose levels stable and healthy. Also, snack throughout your workday. Get snacks that will keep you full and that also have the right nutrition in them like protein, complex carbohydrates, and vitamin-packed veggies. In order not to feel sluggish and bloated, eat a light lunch with plenty of protein.
